Kyoto University of Foreign Studies will implement a curriculum reform plan in the present Graduate School (Master Course) from the 2005 academic year.
KUFS will broaden its present research area of language studies and literature to include Comprehensive Studies of Foreign Languages and International Culture. This will facilitate interdisciplinary study and research beyond single national, ethnic and language studies.
KUFS will reduce the present five majors to one, Foreign Language and Culture Studies, which will have two courses: Language and Culture; and Practical Language Education. The degree of Master of Foreign Languages and Culture will be conferred upon completion of the course. We are also preparing to introduce doctorate level course of studies which will also begin in April 2005.
Since the new Graduate Course will open in April 2005, KUFS will not conduct recruiting activities for the present Graduate Course and the Post-Graduate Diploma Course from the 2005 academic year.
