The 2016 Kyoto Japanese Summer Experience ran from 3 to 24 July. We welcomed 16 students from 8 countries onto the program which was held for the first time in 2016. As well as their Japanese language classes, students took part in the following activities: Tea ceremony, visit to Arashiyama (including the Sagano Romantic Train and the Hozu River boat ride), overnight stay and meditation experience at Enryakuji (a world heritage site), visiting the Gion Festival, Japanese Taiko Drums, visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, Japanese Sweet Making. There were also welcome and farewell parties and opportunities for the students to meet Japanese students from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies.

KJSE was really one of the best experiences I've ever had, and the best foreign summer program that I have attended.
This has been a wonderful three weeks and I have enjoyed myself! The programs were well planned and everything was efficient.
Programs are well organized and the itinerary is very packed.
