みなさん、こんにちは！グローバル観光学科では、３月８日ー９日に国連世界観光機関アジア太平洋地域支援室やJICAと共催で、ポストコロナ世界のサステナブル・ツーリズムをテーマに、シンポジウムおよびワークショップをオンライン開催しました。今日は、デジタル技術を用いたバーチャル・ツーリズムのワークショップを東南アジアはじめ世界各国の学生を対象に実施されたエリック・ハーキンソン先生からのご寄稿を紹介します。ご共催、ご参加いただいた皆様、ありがとうございました！
The 4th Future Tourism Leaders Workshop with the theme of Sustainable Tourism in the Post-COVID World was co-organized by the World Tourism Regional Support Office for Asia and the Pacific, Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS), and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The workshop brought together participants from different parts of the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities of sustainable tourism in the post-COVID world. In this blog post, we summarize the key takeaways from the event.
Session 1: Opening Ceremony and Keynote Speech
The workshop started with an opening ceremony featuring remarks from the organizers and guest speakers.
Session 2: VR Tour Making Workshop
The second session was a VR Tour making workshop where the participants learned about creating immersive virtual tours. The workshop was led by experts in the field of virtual reality and provided the participants with hands-on experience in creating VR tours. The participants learned about the technical aspects of creating VR tours, such as using 360-degree cameras and editing software.
Session 3: My Hometown Project Presentations
The third session was a Zoom session where the participants presented VR Tours of their hometowns using the 'My Hometown Project' developed by Eric Hawkinson. The participants shared their experiences of creating the VR tours and highlighted the unique aspects of their hometowns. The VR tours provided a unique perspective on the local culture, history, and natural beauty of the participants' hometowns.
Session 4: Immersive Tourism and Showcase
The fourth and final session focused on immersive tourism and included a lecture from Prof. Eric Hawkinson on the future of immersive tourism. Following the lecture, there was a showcase of student VR creations where the participants presented their own immersive tourism projects. The showcase provided a platform for the participants to share their ideas and innovations in immersive tourism.
In conclusion, the 4th Future Tourism Leaders Workshop with the theme of Sustainable Tourism in the Post-COVID World was a valuable platform for the future leaders of the tourism industry to exchange knowledge, experiences, and ideas. The event highlighted the importance of sustainability, innovation, collaboration, and resilience in the tourism industry. 最後のセッションは、デジタルテクノロジーによって可能となるイマーシブ・ツアリズム(没入型観光)に焦点を当て、エリック・ハーキンソン教授から未来に関する講演が行われました。講演の後、学生によるVR作品のショーケースが行われ、参加者はそれぞれの没入型観光プロジェクトを発表しました。このショーケースは、参加者が没入型観光におけるアイデアやイノベーションを共有するためのプラットフォームとなりました。
