こんにちは。グローバル観光学科4年次生の金丸紗来です。突然ですが、皆さんはおもてなしとは何かご存じでしょうか？正直私は2年生まであまりわかっていませんでした。そんな私がおもてなしに興味を持ち、星野リゾートに内定をいただいたお話をしたいと思います。
　私がおもてなしに興味を持ったきっかけがコミュニティーエンゲージメントプログラム（CEP）の京都市内の3つの旅館でのインターンシップです。私は沢山の観光客が来るところでアルバイトをしているので将来はホテルで働きたいと思っていました。同じ宿泊業として旅館のことも知っておきたいと思い、京都市内のプログラムを選びました。インターンシップ前は上下関係が厳しいところだろうと、不安なことが沢山ありました。しかし、実際働いてみるととてもアットホームな雰囲気で働きやすい環境だなと感じました。旅館でインターンシップをしていく中でお客様との距離の近さやお客様からご指名を頂いたときの嬉しさを知ることができました。ある旅館の最終日に女将さんに「ホテルはお客様の要望に応えることで、旅館はお客様の思いに応えること。」言われ私の将来が変わりました。
　就職活動では、主に旅館を中心とした宿泊業を探していました。その際に星野リゾートを探し、高校生からの夢だったので応募することにしました。旅館だけでなくホテルやホステル、日帰り施設もあり人気の企業なので正直ダメもとでした。星野リゾートでおもてなしを学びたいという思いや私の将来実現したいことが企業様に通じたのか無事に内定を頂くことができました。
　入社後はおもてなしを学びながらお客様に提供し、お客様とともに思い出を作ることができる従業員になります。

　　Hello. I’m Sara Kanemaru, and I’m a senior in the Department of Global Tourism. Do you know what OMOTENASHI is? Honestly, I didn’t learn about it until I was a sophomore. I’d like talk about why I am interested in OMOTENASHI, and my story of getting a job offer from Hoshino Resorts.
　　My internship at ryokans in Kyoto during the Community Engagement Program made me interested in OMOTENASHI. I wanted to work at a hotel, because I have been working a part-time job where a lot of people visit since I was high school student. The reason why I chose Kyoto was I want to learn about ryokans as an industry. I imagined that it was strict vertical relationships, so I was very worried. However, I when tried working there, it felt like I was at home. I could get close to customers and I was able to experience the great joy of meeting the customer’s expectations. A certain ryokan’s Okami said on the last day, “A hotel tries to meet the customer’s needs. A ryokan tries to meet customer’s feeling.” Then I changed my dream.
　　I sought a ryokan or something similar in the accommodation industry in my job hunting. I discovered Hoshino Resorts then, so I applied there, because it has been my dream since I was a high school student. There are many accommodations and popular companies, so I honestly gave it a go. I could get a job offer from them through my desire to learn about OMOTENASHI there, and my dream.
　　I will become an employee that supports customers with OMOTENASHI while learning new things and, making memories with my customers in the future.
