こんにちは。グローバル観光学科２年次生の石橋尚子です。2020年も残り１ヶ月を切りました。寒い日が続きますが皆さんお元気でしょうか。
今回は北野天満宮の紅葉についてご紹介します。まず北野天満宮とは、京都市上京区にある有名な神社で、全国の天神社と天満宮の総本社です。学問の神様である菅原道真を御祭神として祀っており、昔から学業成就や武芸上達を願う人たちが多く訪れています。そのため、受験シーズンには多くの受験生がお参りに来ます。
京都の紅葉は例年１１月から１２月初旬までが見頃です。北野天満宮では毎年、史跡御土居のもみじ苑が公開されます。御土居とは戦国武将の豊臣秀吉が築いた土塁で、北野天満宮にはその一部が残されています。今年は１１月１日から１２月６日まで公開され、ライトアップも行われました。葉が一枚一枚綺麗に色づいており、とても綺麗でした。
北野天満宮では２月頃には梅苑、５月からは青もみじ苑が公開され、一年を通して様々な自然の移り変わりを堪能できます。今年のもみじ苑は終わってしまいましたが、あと数か月後には梅苑が始まります。北野天満宮まで、西院駅からバスで約１５分です。皆さんも勉強の息抜きや近くに行った際は、参拝してみてはいかがでしょうか？

This time, I’ll talk about autumn leaves in KITANO TENMANGU. It is the famous shrine in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto-shi, known as the head shrine of all the Tenman-gu and Tenjin-sha shrines in Japan. Sugawara no Michizane became deified as the god of learning. Those who wish a success in examinations and improvements of martial arts and entertainments have visited the shrine. Today, many students and examinees go and pray during entrance exam seasons.
As for the colored leaves of Kyoto, from November to early December is usually in full bloom every year. Maple garden of Odoi is open for the public in Kitano Tenmangu. Odoi is the embankment which a legendary warrior and ruler, Hideyoshi Toyotomi built. Part of Odoi is left at Kitano Tenmangu and became one of the historic spots. The maple garden was open from November 1 to December 6 for this year, and the light-up took place. Leaves changed color neatly one by one and were very beautiful.
Kitano Tenmangu has“Baien” which means a plum garden with many Japanese plum trees. It opens in February, and you can enjoy green maple leaves in May. Visitors can be satisfied with various natural changes throughout the year. The autumn maple garden of this year has been over, but the plum garden will open after a few months.
It's possible to go from Sain station to Kitano Tenmangu in 10 minutes by bus. Why don’t you drop in when you take a break from studying or happen to be in the neighborhood.
