季節の変わり目、お疲れなど出ていませんか？
さて、今週グローバル観光学科では、来年から始まる「コミュニティエンゲージメント・プログラム」の選抜面接が行われています。「コミュニティエンゲージメント・プログラム（略称ＣＥＰ）」とは、世界中の地域社会を活動の場に、地域のコミュニティの人びととの協働や連携を通じて、共通する課題解決に取り組む学生参加型プロジェクトのことで、本学国際貢献学部の学びの核となるプログラムです。
2019年度にグローバル観光学科で実施が予定されているＣＥＰは次の８つです。
①海外プログラム

オーストラリア・メルボルンにあるディーキン（DEAKIN）大学Burwoodキャンパスにて5週間と京都外大1週間のコミュニティエンゲージメント活動をおこないます。平日午前は100カ国から留学生が集まる英語研修を14時過ぎまで受講します。平日午後と週末はテーマ別ツーリズムプロジェクトをチーム別におこなうために現地訪問。意見交換、アンケートなど調査をしてプロジェクトの報告書を作成します。
国内プログラム（福井県越前町）南先生
2013年から福井県越前町で取り組んでいるフィールドミュージアム活動では、地域を博物館と見立て、地域の中のさまざま資産（たとえば里山や農業、産業、暮らしなども含め）の価値を新たに発見し、地域課題解決に向けて地域住民と協働しています。限界集落、持続可能な無農薬米作り、福井県伝統産業「越前焼」復興が当面のテーマです。活動は月1回程度、2～3泊で行います。グローバル観光学科の学生さん自らの視点でフィールドを調査し、課題解決に向けた提案、社会実験を行います。そして、活動が終了後も「楽しかったら」引き続き一緒に活動していきましょう！

Today, I'm going to talk about "Community Engagement," which forms the core of what we study in the Faculty of Global Engagement. It is a project aimed at tackling and resolving social issues by working together with members of communities throughout the world.

Overseas Program(Australia）By Prof. Nozaki
This program includes a 5-week study at the Burwood Campus of Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia plus 1-week community engagement activities at KUFS. On weekdays, participants will study English in the morning at the campus with international students coming from 100 countries. Weekday afternoons and weekends will be used for conducting group-based fieldwork research and compiling project reports related to tourism themes.
Domestic Program (Echizencho, Fukui) By Prof. Minami
This program is based on the field museum project in which KUFS has continued its partnership with the residents of Echizencho since 2013. Participants will be given chances to learn about such themes as marginal settlements, sustainable organic agriculture, and the restoration of the traditional Echizen pottery through their active involvement in fieldwork research, solution making, and social experiments.

みなさんこんにちは。グローバル観光学科一年次生の遠藤櫻です。
前回の浦谷さんに続いて、ＡＹＦ(Asian youth forum)での経験をレポートします。
今日は4日目の11月3日（土）に同じ学科の参加者4名と協同でおこなったグローバル観光学科の紹介プレゼンテーションについて紹介します。
内容の概要は、（１）グローバル観光学科の活動について（２）これまで学科でおこなったフィールドワークについてです。
（１） グローバル観光学科の活動について
世界遺産やSDGs(Sustainable Development Goals)と呼ばれる国連の持続可能な開発目標との関わりから観光について考える授業、そしてTOEICなどの資格試験準備講座、英語でのプレゼンテーションの方法を学ぶ授業、第2言語に関する授業など、観光と言語に通じる幅広い授業があります。また、祇園祭の見学や時代祭のボランティア参加など、京都文化に触れる機会も充実しています。
（２）これまで学科でおこなったフィールドワークについて
伏見稲荷大社でインバウンドの観光客に向けて、何故ここを選んで来たのかという調査や、福井県あわら市で旅館見学や観光情勢における調査を行いました。これらのフィールドワークの後、グループ毎に分かれてプレゼンテーションを行い意見交換もしました。
私たちは約一か月前から入念な準備をしてきた結果、うまく発表することができました。しかし、質疑応答の際、本当に言いたかったことを英語で完璧に話すことができず答えに詰まってしまいました。発表の後、AYFのアドバイザーの方から、質問されることはある程度予想しておくことや、身振り手振りを増やすことなどたくさんのアドバイスをして頂きました。
私たちはこのプレゼンテーション、またＡＹＦのプログラムを通して授業では得られない経験をすることができたと思います。同年代のアジアの学生と英語だけではなく様々な言語を使ってコミュニケーションを取ることもできましたし、同じ学部の学生たちとホストとしてプログラムを一緒に作り上げることもできました。
はじめは周りの英語力に圧倒され、とても不安に思っていました。しかしながら、ピザパーティーや京都のシティーツアーなどで他の参加者とも会話が弾んで行く中で、そんな不安は次第になくなり気づけばあっという間に7日間が過ぎていました。最後には、ＡＹＦがこの学部の年中行事になればいいなと思ったぐらいです。お世話になった皆様、ありがとうございました。

Hello everyone!
We talked about the following two main points in our presentation.
(1)About KUFS Global Tourism Department
The Department of Global Affairs at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies offers a variety of classes related to global tourism and foreign languages. For instance, some of these classes deal with such issues as world heritage sites and SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals) while other classes are more language-based providing students with chances to learn how to make English presentations, to prepare for TOEIC, and to study foreign languages other than English. In addition, the Department offers a number of extracuriiculum activities in which students can learn deeply about Kyoto culture.
(2)Fieldwork Activities at Global Tourism Department
Since April, we have conducted fieldwork research in such places as Fushimi Inari in Kyoto and Awara in Fukui and presensented our findings on and off campus.
Over all, our presentation was well received by the audience as a result of our one-month preparation. However it was fairly challenging to answer to the questions from the audience. We received useful suggestions from our AYF advisors regarding how we can better prepare ourselves for the next oppotunity. It was a great learning opportunity. Thank you very much.

こんにちは、グローバル観光学科１年次生の浦谷歩です。
11月3日のブログで紹介されたAsian Youth Forum（以下、ＡＹＦ）には、私たち、グローバル観光学科の５名が、Full Participant（全日プログラム参加者）として参加させていただきました。その他にもVolunteer（学生ボランティアスタッフ）として９名、観光学科から参加させていただきました。
私たちは今回、ＡＹＦをホストする立場として、予め３つのグループに分かれ、役割分担をしてゲストを迎える準備をしてきたのですが、初日の10月31日もそのグループごとに受付を担当しました。その後、アジア各国や国内の他地域から到着されたプログラム参加者に付き添って宿泊先のホテルへ案内し、チェックインのサポートや、ホテルでの注意事項の伝達、参加者間の連絡調整などをおこないました。夕方からはWelcome Partyが行われ、ピザを食べながら交流しました。初日ゆえに緊張しましたが、参加者全員、たくさんの貴重な交流が出来たと思います。
４日目のプログラム終了後に、私は同じ学科から参加していた学生２名と、ゲストの京都観光にも同行しました。具体的には、二条城にバングラデシュから来られた学生さんとそのお母さま、そして韓国の学生さんを案内しました。その時に特にもてなすということの大変さを知りました。どうやってそこまで行くか、また帰りはどうするか、二条城の説明や京都の歴史案内などをどうすればできるかなど、３人で協力しながら考え、何とか楽しんでもらえました。大変だと思うこともたくさんありましたが、喜んでいる姿をみて、やはり観光を通して人に楽しんでもらうことは、やりがいがあるものだと思いました。
今回、ＡＹＦに参加させていただいて、私は、ホストになるということの大変さ、責任感の重さを感じました。特に今回は、英語で必要事項を伝えなくてはならないので、もし、うまく伝わっていなくて、何か問題が起きたらという不安を常にかかえていました。初日に限らず、常にもてなす側として、何をすべきなのかということを考えていたと思います。上手くいかないことや、スムーズにいかないことなどもありましたが、この６日間で英語面での成長はもちろんのこと、観光にこれから携わっていく身として、もてなす側の対応など、とても大事なことを身をもって学ぶことができました。
Hello! I'm Ayumi Uratani, a first-year student in Global Tourism studies at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies. Today I would like to report on what I experienced at the Asian Youth Forum (AYF). From the Department of Global Tourism, 5 students participated in the event as full participants, and 9 students worked as student volunteer staff.
As a host of this event, we spent weeks preparing by working in 3 groups. On the first day of the event, each KUFS student group escourted and assisted domestic and foreign guest participants with their event and hotel check-in, and all participants enjoyed themselves at a welcome pizza party.
On the 4th day, after the programs, my classmates and I had the chance to take the guests from Bangladesh and Korea to Nijo Castle for sightseeing. From this experience, I learned the challenges of hosting and serving guests. There were many things to think about from trip planning to providing tour guides. But at the same time, I found fulfillment creating enjoyable experiences for the guests through tourism.
It was also difficult to communicate with the guests in English. However, all these challenges made me become more aware of what needs to be done to host guests better. The 6 days of the AYF turned out to be a good learning experience for me.

みなさん、こんにちは！
10月31日(水）から11月6日（火）まで、Asian Youth Forum略してAYFというイベントが学内でおこなわれており、グローバル観光学科の教員や学生の一部もスタッフや参加者として、参加しています。
このイベントはアジアを中心とした国々から大学生たちが集い、主に英語を使って約1週間ともに講義を受けたり、互いの文化やことばを紹介しあったり、観光や飲食をともにしたりするなかで、お互いの理解を深める趣旨でおこなわれています。この国際交流プログラムは、今年で21回目の開催。これまで台湾、フィリピン、韓国などの大学を会場にして行われてきましたが、京都での開催は初めてです。
今回は日本の他に、バングラデシュ、カンボジア、中国、香港、インドネシア、マレーシア、韓国、タイ、ウズベキスタン、ベトナム、ロシアから多様な文化的背景をもつ参加者が京都外大のキャンパスを訪れています。
グローバル観光学科の学生たちは、同じ国際貢献学部のグローバルスタディーズ学科からの参加者とも協力しながら約1カ月かけて準備をし、学科での活動や京都の観光地についての紹介プレゼンの準備や、部屋の飾り付け、近辺レストランの紹介地図の作成などに取り組んできました。初日の受付やホテルまでの案内なども学生たちが中心になっておこなっています。
このイベントについての発信も、これから学生目線で学生参加者がしてくれることになっています！どうぞお楽しみに！！

From October 31st to November 6th, an international youth conference called the Asian Youth Forum has been taking place here at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies. This conference brings together college-aged young people from across Asia for academic seminars, intercultural workshops, social events and interpersonal exchanges to promote international understanding, Asian awareness, intercultural communication and leadership skills through the medium of English. This is the first time Kyoto has become the venue for the AYF.
This year's AYF has brought students from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Viestnam, and Russia in addition to those who are already in Japan.
Global Tourism students have cooperated with Global Studies students to get ready for this event, preparting presentations and putting together tourist information. Some of the participants are going to report their AYF experiences in this blog soon as well!!
10月31日(水）から11月6日（火）まで、Asian Youth Forum略してAYFというイベントが学内でおこなわれており、グローバル観光学科の教員や学生の一部もスタッフや参加者として、参加しています。
このイベントはアジアを中心とした国々から大学生たちが集い、主に英語を使って約1週間ともに講義を受けたり、互いの文化やことばを紹介しあったり、観光や飲食をともにしたりするなかで、お互いの理解を深める趣旨でおこなわれています。この国際交流プログラムは、今年で21回目の開催。これまで台湾、フィリピン、韓国などの大学を会場にして行われてきましたが、京都での開催は初めてです。
今回は日本の他に、バングラデシュ、カンボジア、中国、香港、インドネシア、マレーシア、韓国、タイ、ウズベキスタン、ベトナム、ロシアから多様な文化的背景をもつ参加者が京都外大のキャンパスを訪れています。
グローバル観光学科の学生たちは、同じ国際貢献学部のグローバルスタディーズ学科からの参加者とも協力しながら約1カ月かけて準備をし、学科での活動や京都の観光地についての紹介プレゼンの準備や、部屋の飾り付け、近辺レストランの紹介地図の作成などに取り組んできました。初日の受付やホテルまでの案内なども学生たちが中心になっておこなっています。
このイベントについての発信も、これから学生目線で学生参加者がしてくれることになっています！どうぞお楽しみに！！
