こんにちは、グローバル観光学科2年次生の島岡七海と関戸友香です。今回は古都京都の文化財のひとつとして世界遺産に登録されている下鴨神社について紹介します。
下鴨神社は京阪出町柳駅から徒歩約15分のところにあります。京阪出町柳町駅までは、京都外大からバスで約30分です。
下鴨神社という名前は通称名であり、正式名称は賀茂御祖神社(かもみおやじんじゃ)です。鴨川の下流に位置していることから下鴨神社と親しまれています。下鴨神社はとても広く、沢山の観光スポットがあります。今回は3つの場所に焦点を当てて、ご紹介します。
１つ目は本殿です。入り口から荘厳な門が建ち、自然と合った風景がとても印象的です。中に入ると東本殿、西本殿、言社(ことしゃ)と呼ばれる干支にまつわる神社などがあります。言社では干支それぞれの小さなお社があるので自分の干支の前で写真を撮ってみてはいかがでしょうか。
2つ目は御手洗(みたらし)社です。お祓いができるお社であり、近くには御手洗（みたらし）川という名前の川が流れています。この川で紙を濡らして占う、水みくじというおみくじがあるので、まだやったことがない人はぜひ体験してみてください。
最後は河合神社です。美人になりたい人に必見の神社です。絵馬が手鏡の形をしており、自分のメイク用品で顔を描き、裏には自分の願いを書きます。外見だけでなく、内面も美しくなってもらうという意味の絵馬だそうです。
他にも下鴨神社の楼門の手前には、とても静かで癒される木のトンネルのような糺（ただす）の森や、縁結びのご利益がある相生社(あいおいのやしろ)などがあります。ちなみに、私達が訪れた5月12日には、御蔭祭(みかげまつり)が行われていました。神霊を迎えるお祭りです。下鴨神社はこのような行事も多々あるので、行く時にホームページなどでチェックしていくとよいですね。
Hello, everyone！ We are Nanami Shimaoka and Tomoka Sekido, second-year students at the Department of Global Tourism Studies. We are going to show you Shimogamo Shrine that is designated as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the ancient city of Kyoto.
Shimogamo Shrine is located near Demachiyanagi Station of the Keihan Line, and it takes about 15 minutes on foot from the station. To get to Demachiyanagi Station ｆfrom Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, it takes about 30 minutes by bus.
The name Shimogamo Shrine is a kind of nick name. A formal name is Kamomioya Shrine. The shrine is located in the downstream ("Shimo" in Japanese) of Kamo River, and people call it Shimogamo Shrine. The place is huge, and there are many tourist spots to see. Today, we will focus on the three spots that we recommend you visit.
The first spot is a main sanctuary. The entrance is so cool, and its view with beautiful nature is so impressive. It includes three main halls such as Higashi Honden which is a main shrine in the east, Nishi Honden which is a main shrine in the west,and Koto Shrine that is related to zodiac cycle. Koto Shrine is divided into seven smaller sub-shrines that address specific Kanji signs of the Chinese Zodiac. How about taking pictures in front of your zodiac cycle?
The second spot is Mitarashi Shrine. We can remove evil spirits here. Near this shrine, there is a river named Mitarashi River. You can try a unique type of fortune slips called "Mizu-Mikuji." By soaking the slips in the water of Mitarashi River,
you can see your fortune letters.
The last spot is Kawai Shrine. If you want to be more beautiful, you should visit this shrine. At this place, the shape of "Ema" (small wooden votive plaques) is a hand mirror. You can draw the board using your cosmetics, and you write your wishes on the opposite side. The "Ema" plaque here shows the wishes to be more beautiful inside out.
Besides, on the way to the main gate of Shimogamo Shrine, you could also visit Tadasu no Mori, which feels like a quiet tunnel of trees. There is also Aioinoyashiro Shrine that is dedicated to the god of matchmaking.
By the way, when we went to Shimogamo Shrine on May 12, Mikage festival was going on. Shimogamo Shrine has a lot of other festivals and events, so we recommend you check information before your visit.

こんにちは！グローバル観光学科2年次生の島岡七海です。今回も私の個人的に好きな京都の観光地を写真と共にご紹介しようと思います。今日のご紹介エリアは南禅寺です。
南禅寺は地下鉄東西線の蹴上駅から歩いて約10分のところにあるお寺です。京都外国語大学の近くにある同じく地下鉄東西線の太秦天神川駅からは、蹴上駅まで約15分で到着します。南禅寺の周辺には、たくさんの素敵な場所があります。たとえば、枯山水で造られた方丈庭園や、世界最長の傾斜鉄道跡として知られる蹴上インクラインなどです。蹴上インクラインは、明治時代に琵琶湖の水を京都に運ぶという疎水事業がおこなわれたとき、途中に水路落差があって船で行き来することが出来ない場所があったため作られた傾斜鉄道で、船ごと台車に載せて、動力によってその区間を引かせていた名残が復元され残っています。
次に私が大好きな場所、水路閣を紹介します。こちらの水路閣も先に述べた疎水事業の一環で作られた水路橋で、琵琶湖の水を境内に通せるような形で作られました。こちらは南禅寺を入って真っ直ぐ進むと右手側にみえてきます。周辺の景観に合わせた美しいアーチがレンガで設計され、その壮大な景色は何度いっても驚かされる光景です。日本では様々なテレビ番組のロケ地として使われています。特にサスペンスドラマで多く使われるため、見たことがあるのではないでしょうか。そんな南禅寺にある水路閣、訪れてみてはいかがでしょうか。
Hello! My name is Nanami Shimaoka. I am a second-year student in Global Tourism Studies. Today, I am going to show you the pictures I took at one of the famous tourist spots in Kyoto: “Nanzenji Temple.”
Nanzenji Temple is located near Subway Keage Station, and it takes about 10 minutes on foot from Keage Station to Nanzenji Temple. Subway Keage Station is 15 minutes away from Uzumasa Tenjingawa Station, which is within walking distance from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies. Around Nanzenji Temple, there are many nice places to visit such as Houjyou Garden that is a dry landscape garden, and Keage Incline that was built as a part of a big project to carry water from Biwa Lake to Kyoto during the Meiji era.
Suirokaku is my favorite place as well. Suirokaku is an aqueduct which was also built as a part of the project to carry water from Biwako Lake to Nanzenji Temple. Enterting the temple gate, you will see the aqueduct on your right side after a short walk. The beautiful arch design made of bricks matches well with the scenery of Nanzenji Temple. I find it breathtaking whenever I visit this place. In Japan, Suirokaku has often been used as a shooting location for many Japanese suspense drama series, so you may have seen it on TV. Why don’t you visit Suirokaku and Nanzenji temple?

こんにちは！グローバル観光学科２年次生の島岡七海です。今回は京都にあるおすすめの観光地についての紹介です。今回は春と言えば桜！ということで、舞妓や芸妓のいる置屋さんやお茶屋さんが集中する花街としても名高い祇園周辺を桜の写真とともにご案内します。
京都には、上七軒、祇園甲部、祇園東、先斗町、そして宮川町という５つの花街があり、それぞれ独自の踊りの流派や歴史が根付いています。そのなかでも、祇園甲部は京都最大の花街として有名で、４月に入ると井上流の芸妓・舞妓による舞踊公演「都をどり」でも賑わいます。
八坂神社の西側に位置する祇園へは阪急河原町駅や京阪の祇園四条駅から行けます。河原町駅は京都外国語大学の最寄り駅である西院駅からも3駅と近いので、この春から京都外大に通われる方もぜひ足を延ばしてみてください。
河原町駅を降りるとまずは鴨川が目に入ってきます。鴨川ではカップルが等間隔に座っているということで有名です。もしかしたら、その光景を見ることができるかもしれませんね！
そして、さらに四条通を東へ進んでいくと 八坂神社や円山公園が見えてきます。円山公園には一本の枝垂れ桜があり、私が先日訪れたときにも、たくさんの人が写真を撮っていました。とてもきれいな桜でした。
さらに東へ進むと清水寺が見えてきます。今は工事中ですが、桜はきれいに咲いていました。清水寺はいうまでもなく京都でも有名なお寺です。
祇園の街はお寺や木造建築が並ぶ小道などもあり、古き良き京都を満喫できる観光地でありながら、おしゃれなカフェなど現代的なお店もたくさんあります。私はそんな過去と現在が混ざり合う街である祇園の風景が好きです。いつでもにぎわっているので、京都に来られる方はぜひ行っていただきたいスポットです。
Hello! My name is Nanami Shimaoka. Ⅰ major in Global Tourism Studies at KUFS. Today, I am going to guide you to Kyoto’s most famous traditional district, Gion. The season of cherry blossoms has already started, so I went to Gion to take pictures of cherry blossoms, or “sakura”.
Kawaramachi Station of Hankyu Line or Gionshijyo Station of Keihan Line is the nearest station to Gion area. When you get off the Kawaramachi station, you can see the scenery of traditional Kyoto. Kawaramachi Station is just 3 stations away from Saiin Station that is the closest station to our university, Kyoto University of Foreign Studies.
You can start your walking tour in Gion from Kamo River. It is said that couples who sit down on its banks always space themselves at equal intervals. If you go there, you may see the scene.
If you go east on the street called Shijo-dori from Kawaramachi Station, then you will see famous tourist spots such as Yasaka Shrine and Maruyama Park. Maruyama Park is famous for cherry blossom viewing, and inside the park, there is an old famous weeping cherry tree. When I recently visited there, I saw many people taking pictures. The cherry blossoms were so beautiful.
You can also visit Kiyomizu Temple. Although a renovation project has been going on at Kiyomizu Temple (until March 2020), visitors can still enjoy cherry blossoms. If you have never been to the temple, how about going there?
Gion has a lot of modern shops and cool cafés. However, Gion also has old temples and narrow streets lined with traditional shops and old wooden buildings. I like the scenery of Gion that is mixed with old times and current times. Why don’t you visit Gion this weekend?
