こんにちは、グローバル観光学科2年次⽣のフェン ティ リーです。いよいよ新型コロナウイルスが落ち着いてきました。約3年のコロナウイルス感染症拡⼤防⽌で、渡航が制限され、特に観光業界には⼤きな影響が及んでいました。そのため、コロナウイルスが収束した際に、私は数年ぶりに家族に会いに帰国することにしました。

大学1年次⽣の時、ある先⽣に授業でダナン市はベトナムの⾃慢できる観光地だと教えて頂きました。その時、私は観光学科の留学⽣なのに、⾃分の国の誇りある観光地に⾏ったことがないのは残念だと思いました。だから、帰国した時、家族と⼀緒にダナンに⾏くことにしました。

一日目にダナン郊外にある遊園地「バナヒルズ」に⾏きました。バナヒルズは⾼さ1,487 メートルの場所にある中世フランスの町並みをイメージしたテーマパークです。昔、ベトナムがフランスの統治下だった時、バナヒルズの⼭頂は避暑地としてフランス⼈に利⽤されていました。その 名残が現在も残って、今では「フランス村」としてテーマパーク化しています。私が乗ったタクシ ーの運転⼿さんによると、バナヒルズはダナン市の住⺠に「ミニヨーロッパ」と呼ばれているとおっしゃっていました。そして、バナヒルズの⼭のふもとから⼭頂まで⾏くために、ロープウェイに 乗りました。私にとって、このロープウェイに乗ったことはトリップの中で⼀番怖くて、楽しい体験でした。なぜなら、私は⾼所恐怖症で、標⾼1000メートル以上の⾼さを⾒下ろしたのははじめてだったからです。最初はすごく緊張して、⽬を開けられませんでした。しかし、少し移動すると、私の甥が「綺麗だ」と⼤きな声で⾔ったので、私は少しずつ⽬を開けはじめると、素敵な緑の光景が⽬の前に広がりました。ネットでたくさんの写真が載せられていますが、やはり実際の景⾊を⾃分で実感する⽅が、いい体験になりました。バナヒルズの頂点に到着してから、ゴールデンブリッジを訪れました。皆さんは SNSで話題の「神の⼿」や「ゴールデンブリッジ」といった⾔葉をご存知ですか？この橋は「神の⼿」とも呼ばれ、⼭から伸びる巨⼤な２つの⼿にささえられる⻩⾦に輝く橋です。

もう⼀つ皆さんに紹介したいスポットはランチビュッフェー「Aparang Restaurant- Buffet」です。 ゴールデンブリッジを⾒物し、フォトをとっているとお昼の時間になったので,家族と⼀緒に Aparang にランチを⾷べに⾏きました。このレストランはインド料理とベトナム料理をメインに提供し、他には⽇本⾵の料理、ヨーロッパ⾵のデザートなども並べられていました。また「フォー」、「チェー」といったベトナムの伝統的な料理もあるので、ベトナムの伝統的な料理を試したい⽅にすごくおすすめです。

帰国の期間が短かったですが、家族と⼀緒に⾏った旅は充実した時間でした。また、コロナウイルスが流⾏した後、ダナンのインバウンド観光客の状況はどうなるのかと気になっていましたが、意外と韓国、アメリカ、インドといった外国⼈観光客が多かったです。皆さんも機会があれ ば、是⾮ベトナムのダナン市に旅に⾏って、家族や友達とたくさん楽しい思い出を作ってください!


Hello everyone. My name is Huynh Thi Ly and I am a sophomore majoring in Global Tourism here at KUFS. Finally, the situation regarding the pandemic seems to have calmed down. Travel was restricted for about three years, and the tourism industry in particular was greatly affected. Therefore, when the pandemic subsided, I decided to go home for the first time in several years to see my family.

When I was in the first grade, a teacher told me in class that Da Nang was the pride of Viet Nam. I was told that it is a tourist spot that should be visited. Even though I am majoring in Global Tourism, I thought it was a pity that I had never gone to a site that is said to be the pride of my country. So, when I returned to Viet Nam, I decided to go to Da Nang with my family. On the first day, we went to Ba Na Hills – a amusement park in the suburb of Da Nang. Ba Na Hills is a theme park located at a height of 1,484 meters that is based on a medieval French townscape.

Long ago, when Viet Nam was under French occupation, the summit of Ba Na Hills was used by the French as a summer resort. The remnants of that era still remain today, and it is now a theme park called French Village. According to the taxi driver, Ba Na Hills is called Little Europe.

We took a cable car to the top of Ba Na Hills. For me, riding the cable car was the scariest and most fun experience of this trip. I have a fear of heights, and this was the first time I had looked down at an altitude of more than 1,000 meters. At first, I was so nervous so I couldn’t open my eyes. But then my nephew exclaimed “What a beautiful view” and I started to open my eyes, and a wonderful green view spread out in front of me. There are many pictures posted on the internet, but it was better to experience the actual scenery for myself.
After reaching the top of Ba Na Hills, we visited a special golden bridge. Do you know the phrase God’s Hand that is hot topic on social networks? This bridge is supported by two huge hands extending from the mountain.

Another spot I would like to introduce is the lunch buffet Aparang. After seeing the bridge and taking photos, it was lunch time, so we went to Aparang. The restaurant mainly serves Indian and Vietnamese food, along with some Japanese dishes and European desserts. There are also traditional Vietnamese dishes such as Pho and Chè, so it is highly recommended for those who want to try Vietnamese food.

Although my return to Viet Nam was brief, the trip was a fulfilling experience. I was wondering what the situation of inbound tourists in Da Nang would be after the pandemic, but surprisingly there were many foreign visitors such as people from Korea, the US and India. If one day you plan to visit Viet Nam, I hope you visit to Da Nang and make lots of fun memories with your family and friends.

皆さん、こんにちは！グローバル観光学科2年次生の星野太希です。春の過ごしやすく温かい時期の終わりが近づき、これから梅雨、猛暑が控えている時期となりました。私自身、最近はそれらと共にカゲロウをはじめたくさんの虫がとても活発化してきているように感じます。今回はそんな虫を含む地球の生物で「毒」を持つ生物をメインに展示している期間限定の展示会「もうどく展」に行ってきましたので、それを紹介しようと思います。

今回行ってきたもうどく展は、東京の池袋にある「サンシャイン水族館」の特別展として開催されていました。元々はサンシャイン水族館本館を目当てに行ったのですが、そこでたまたまもうどく展を見かけた際に、小さいころ図鑑を何度も見返すぐらい危険生物にとても興味があったのを思い出し、価格が400円と安かったのもあり寄ってみることにしました。

私は今回この展示会に行ってみて、2つ感じたことがあります。1つ目は「危険度がリアルに感じられる」ことです。この展示会では、入ってすぐに毒についての解説と、サンシャイン水族館のスタッフさんが独自に設定した毒レベルの紹介が書いてあるパネルがありました。「毒」と言っても死んでしまうものだけではなく、痛みや腫れなどの症状は出ても死には至らない微毒まで様々な種類があります。この展示会では毒性を持つ生き物と共に、その生き物が持つ毒のレベルを1から5まで段階で表示したパネルも展示してあるので、その生き物がどのくらい危険であるかをすんなり理解ができました。それだけでなく、くさいオナラを出すことで有名な生物であるスカンクのオナラを実際に体験できる装置がありました。ここで展示されている「臭い」は実際にスカンクがいるわけではなく、調香師が再現したもので安全なものとのことでした。実際にこの装置を体験してみましたが、刺激臭がものすごかったです。ちなみに本物のスカンクのオナラの臭いはこれよりさらに臭くて毒性もあるうえ、1度臭いが付いたらなかなか取れないとのことなので、展示されているのが偽物で本当に良かったと感じました。

2つ目は「展示されている生物の種類が幅広い」ということです。この展示会では「オニダルマオコゼ」や「ミノカサゴ」といったよく危険生物として名があがるものや「カエンタケ」といった少し前にニュースで大きく取り上げられたもの、「アイゴ」や「クワズイモ」といった、遭遇確率が高い生き物も展示されていました。個人的に特に気になったのがこの「クワズイモ」で、見た目はよく見る野菜である「サトイモ」の葉と変わりはないのですが、名前の由来が「食わず芋」ということで、食べてしまうと皮膚や粘膜に針が刺さったような強い痛みを感じるらしいです。またひどい場合はかぶれや痺れ、水ぶくれ、むくみのほか、一過性の言語障害や下痢、出血を伴う嘔吐といった中毒症状を引き起こす可能性もあるとのことでした。この植物を見たとき、本当に里芋の葉と似ていたので少し恐怖を感じました。

今回は私自身が行ってきた「もうどく展」についての紹介をしました。価格が600円（サンシャイン水族館本館と共に寄ると400円）と比較的、安く見ることができる上、展示期間が11月の初めまでと長期間なのでぜひ足を運んでみてはいかがでしょうか？

The Deadly Poison Exhibition - Danger Up Close and Personal

Greetings everyone! My name is Taiki Hoshino, a second-year student in the Department of Global Tourism. As we approach the end of the pleasant and warm spring season, the rainy season and ensuing heat waves are just around the corner. Recently, I've noticed that many insects, including mayflies, have popped out everywhere. In this blog post, I would like to introduce an exhibition I visited that focused on deadly poisons, which mainly showcased poisonous creatures, including insects.

I visited the Modokuten Deadly Poison Exhibition, which was held as a special event at the Sunshine Aquarium in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Originally, I was planning on visiting the Sunshine Aquarium, but when I saw the deadly poison exhibition, I remembered how interested I was in dangerous creatures when I was a child. So, since the entry fee was only 400 yen, I decided to take a look.

Two things stood out to me when I visited this exhibition. Firstly, I could feel a real level of danger as soon as I entered the exhibition. I saw a panel which explained and introduced the poison levels set by the staff of the Sunshine Aquarium. The term poison here not only refers to substances that can kill but also includes various types of mycotoxins that cause pain, swelling, and other symptoms but do not lead to death.

In this exhibition, alongside the toxic creatures, there are panels that show the level of toxicity of the creature on a scale of 1 to 5, making it easy to understand how dangerous the toxin is. There was also a device that allowed visitors to experience the smell of a skunk's spray, a creature famous for emitting a foul-smelling odor. I was told that the smell on display at the exhibition was not that of an actual skunk, but that it had been recreated by a perfumer and was completely safe. The smell was extremely pungent and strong.

Secondly, the wide variety of plants and animals on display caught my attention. There were some that are often labelled as dangerous, such as the Stonefish and the Lionfish, others that were widely reported in the news a while ago, such as the poison fire coral, and still others that are more commonly encountered, such as the Dusky Spinefoot fish and the Alocasia. Personally, I was particularly interested in the Alocasia, which looks no different from the leaves of the common taro root. However, the origin of its name in Japanese is “inedible taro” and it is said that if eaten, one feels a strong pain as if a needle had pierced the skin. In severe cases, it was told that in addition to rash, numbness, blistering, and swelling, it can also cause symptoms such as speech disorders, diarrhea, and vomiting with bleeding. When I saw this plant, I was a little scared because it really resembled a taro root plant.

The exhibition is inexpensive at 600 yen (400 yen if you visit along with the main Sunshine Aquarium) and will be open until the beginning of November, so why not plan a visit?

皆さんこんにちは！グローバル観光学科１年次生の廣田歩夢です。12月になり、来年用の手帳を準備したり、大掃除をしたり新年を迎えるための準備に奮闘している日々です。さて、今回のブログでは、タイトルにある通り、11月の連休中に下呂温泉に行き、少し早めのリフレッシュをしてきたことについて書いていきます。

下呂温泉の基本情報です。場所は岐阜県中部に位置しています。群馬県の草津温泉、兵庫県の有馬温泉ともに日本三名泉の一つに数えられています。江戸時代の儒学者・林羅山が自らの詩集にこれらの名前を明記したことがきっかけとなっています。この地ではある日温泉が急に出なくなりましたが、薬師如来が白鷺に化身して源泉のありかを村人に知らせたという逸話が、白鷺伝説として有名です。また下呂という地名とカエルの鳴き声“ゲロ”にかけてカエルのキャラクターがいます。そのため町のいたるところに白鷺やカエルがモチーフになったものがあります。

その泉質から美人の湯ともいわれる下呂温泉。実際に入ってみて肌がスベスベになっていきました。疲労回復効果もあるため、入れば入るほど、リラックスができました。特にリラックスができたのが露天風呂です。外に出るまではとても寒かったのですが、一度温泉に入ると冬の朝の布団のような温かさがあり、そこから出たくないという気持ちが大きくなりました。また外には町を横断するようにJRの線路が通っているため、露天風呂に入っていると“ガタンゴトン”という列車の通る音も味わえるのがおすすめです。

温泉街では食べ歩きも欠かせません。多くの食べ歩きグルメがある中でおすすめは下呂プリン。店内手作りのプリンを銭湯がイメージされている内装で食べることができます。今回食べたのはレトロプリンです。このプリンは普段食べるプリンと違い、少し固めのプリンです。種類も豊富にあるので選ぶのが大変でした。


ここまで読んで下呂温泉に行ってみたくなった人もいるのでしょうか？京都・大阪から出発する場合、1日1往復大阪発着の電車が出ています。この電車を使うと、中部地方の玄関口・名古屋駅での乗り換えの手間が省けるだけでなく、大阪・京都の車窓から下呂に近づくまでの美しい車窓の変化も味わうことができます。関西を7時～8時に出発し、お昼時に下呂駅に到着しておいしい温泉グルメを味わうことができます。また下呂駅を16時に出発するので、温泉手形を使って下呂の温泉を大満喫してから帰ることもできます。温泉とぐルメの2つの魅力がある下呂温泉。おすすめは1泊2日です。次の土日や学校が休みの日に行ってみたいなぁと思った人はぜひ調べてみてください。

Hello everyone! This is Ayumu Hirota, and I am a first-year student in the Department of Global Tourism. It is already December and I am busy preparing my scheduler for next year, doing some major cleaning and struggling to get ready for the New Year. In this blog, as the title says, I will write about my trip to Gero Onsen (Gero Hot Springs) during the long weekend in November.

Some basic information about Gero-onsen: It is located in the middle of Gifu Prefecture. Along with Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture and Arima Onsen in Hyogo Prefecture, Gero is ranked among the three best hot spring resorts in Japan. It was the Confucian scholar Hayashi Razan of the Edo period (1603-1867) who specified these locations in his book of poems. One day the onsen water in this area suddenly stopped flowing, but an egret helped villagers discover another source of natural hot spring water. It is said that the egret was the embodiment of Yakushi-Nyorai. In Japanese a frog's croak is "Gero" so a result, motifs of egrets and frogs can be seen everywhere in the town.

Gero Onsen is also known as the hot spring of beauty because of its spring quality. In fact, my skin became smoother and softer after bathing in it. The more I bathed in it, the more relaxed I felt. I felt especially relaxed in the open-air bath. It was very cold before I went outside, but once I got into the onsen, it was as warm as a futon on a winter morning, and I had no desire to leave! Also, the JR train line runs across the town, so you can hear the trains going by as you soak in the open-air bath.

Eating and drinking in the hot spring resort area is also a must. Among the many gourmet foods available, I recommend the Gero Purin (Pudding). You can enjoy this handmade pudding in the restaurant, which is decorated in the image of a public bathhouse. The dessert I tried this time was called Retro Pudding. This pudding is different from a normal purin - it was a little harder. There are many varieties, so it was hard to choose one.

If so, here’s what you need to know: if you are departing from Kyoto or Osaka, there is one round-trip train per day to/from Osaka. Using this train not only saves you the trouble of changing trains at Nagoya Station, but also allows you to enjoy the beautiful change of scenery from the Osaka/Kyoto train windows as you approach Gero.

Departing from Kansai between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m., you can arrive at Gero Station at noon to enjoy delicious onsen gourmet cuisine. For the return leg, trains depart from Gero Station at 4:00 p.m., so you can enjoy the hot springs to the fullest before returning home (up to 17 different baths!). Gero has two attractions: Onsen and delicious food. I recommend staying two days and one night. If you are interested in visiting over a weekend or on a school holiday, please check it out!

皆さん、こんにちは！グローバル観光学科1年次生の岩本茉子です。6月も後半に入りましたが、いかがお過ごしですか？最近は暑い日が続いていますね。京都の夏はこれからどんどん暑くなっていくので、水分補給などをしっかりして、暑さに負けずに頑張っていきましょう！

さて、今回は京都にある「源光庵」というお寺についてご紹介したいと思います。まず、源光庵とは京都市北区鷹峯にあり、正式名は鷹峰山宝樹林源光庵という曹洞宗のお寺です。市バスで6号系統、もしくは北1号系統に乗り、鷹峯源光庵前というバス停で降りると行くことができます。お寺の前は長い坂道となっているため、歩くのがしんどいという方はバスで行くのをおすすめします。そして、私が源光庵に訪れた時はとても暑い日でしたが、本堂内は涼しく、またゆったりとした雰囲気だったので、とても過ごしやすい場所でした。なかでも私のお気に入りの場所は縁側です。ここに座りながら何も考えずに景色を眺めていましたが、時間が経つのを忘れるほど居心地が良かったので、ホッと一息をつくことができました。

次に本堂内についてお話していきたいと思います。ここには訪れる人に人気がある二つの窓があります。まず、正面から見て右側にある四角い窓が「迷いの窓」といいます。これは四角い窓に人間の生涯を象徴し、生老病死、愛別離苦、怨憎会苦（おんぞうえく）、求不得苦（ぐふとく）、五陰盛苦（ごおんじょうく）という四苦八苦を表現しています。そして、正面から見て左側にある円い窓は「悟りの窓」といいます。これは円い窓に「禅と円通」の心を表し、円は大宇宙を表現しています。そんな二つの窓に人気がある1つの理由は、窓から見える景色です。今の季節だと新緑が見頃となっています。私が訪れた日はお天気が良い日だったので、本堂内が少し暗いということもあり、新緑が日光に照らされている光景がより鮮やかに感じました。また、秋には紅葉、冬には雪が積もれば雪景色を見ることもできます。二つの窓の前に座り、自分を見つめ直しながら、この窓から四季折々の変化を楽しんでみるというのも良いですね。

そして、本堂には注目すべき所がもう一つあります。それは天井です。ここの天井は「血天井」といい、伏見桃山城の遺構です。これは1600年、徳川家康の忠臣・鳥居彦右衛門元忠一党1800人が石田三成の軍勢と交戦し討死、残る約380人が自刃した時の恨跡です。当時の足型や手型が今でも鮮明に残っており、その時の悲惨さをこの血天井が物語っています。源光庵ではこの時亡くなった人々を供養するために、伏見桃山城の床を現在は天井として使用しているのです。景色だけではなく、このような歴史的な一面もここでは感じることができます。私も実際に足型を見てみて、跡がくっきりと残っていたので、とても400年以上前の天井を今、自分の目で見ているとは思えませんでした。それほどこの戦いは思っているよりもはるかに壮絶なものであったのだと実感することができました。

今回、初めて訪れた源光庵でしたが、自然や歴史であふれたとても素敵なお寺だということが分かりました。また、静かで落ち着いた空間だったので、気晴らしがしたいときに訪れてみるのもおすすめです。私は次回、紅葉が綺麗な時期に行ってみたいと思います。皆さんも機会があれば、ぜひ一度源光庵に足を運んでみてはいかがでしょうか？

Hello everyone! My name is Mako Iwamoto, a first-year student in the Department of Global Tourism at KUFS. How are you doing as we enter the second half of June? The hot days have been continuing recently - I hope you are managing to stay cool. Summer in Kyoto is just going to get hotter, so stay hydrated and do your best to beat the heat!

I would like to introduce a temple in Kyoto called Genko-an.　First of all, Genko-an is located in Takagamine, Kita-ku, Kyoto, and its official name is Yohozan Hojurin Genko-an, and it is a Soto Zen temple. You can get there by taking City Bus No. 6 or North No. 1 and getting off at the Takagamine Genkoan-mae stop. The road in front of the temple is a long slope, so if walking is too strenuous for you, I recommend taking the bus. And although it was a very hot day when I visited Genko-an, the main hall was cool and relaxing, making it a very comfortable place to spend time. My favorite place was the engawa walkway. I sat and gazed at the scenery without thinking, but it was so comfortable that I lost track of time and I was able to take a moment to relax.

Next, I would like to talk about the inside of the main hall. There are two windows here that are popular with visitors. The satori no mado or Window of Realization is round, implying Zen maturity, completeness and enlightenment, while the mayoi no mado or Window of Delusion is square, implying confusion, ignorance, and immaturity, or the life of samsara, that is, a life of human suffering. One reason for the popularity of these two windows is the view. In the current season, the fresh greenery is at its best. The day I visited was a beautiful day, so the sight of the fresh greenery in the sunlight through those windows was even more vivid, partly because the inside of the main hall is a bit dark. You can also see the autumn leaves in fall and the snowy landscape in winter when it snows. It would be nice to sit in front of the two windows and enjoy the seasonal changes.

And there is one more remarkable thing about the main hall. It is the ceiling. This is what's called a "blood ceiling" and is a relic of Fushimi-Momoyama Castle. This is all that remains of the bloody end to a grudge against Tokugawa Ieyasu's loyal retainer Torii Hikoemon Mototada and his party of 1,800 men who were killed in a battle with Ishida Mitsunari's army in 1600. The remaining 380 men committed suicide. The footprints and hand prints from that time still remain vividly depicted in blood. The floor of Fushimi-Momoyama Castle is now used as the ceiling at Genko-an as a memorial to those who died at that time. When I actually looked at the footprints, the marks were so clear that it was hard to believe that I was now seeing with my own eyes a ceiling that is over 400 years old. I came to realize that this battle was much more epic than I thought.

This was my first visit to Genko-an, and I found it to be a very nice temple filled with nature and history. It was also a quiet and serene place, so I would recommend visiting when you want to get away from distractions. I would like to visit when the autumn leaves are beautiful.
